The Scholarships
In honor of Lester Grenier McCarty’s (Syracuse University B.S.C.E. 1915) commitment to the field of Civil Engineering, the McCarty Family Educational Trust proudly offers scholarships, up to $5000, to Syracuse University students.
Eligibility:
Candidates for the Lester Grenier McCarty Scholarships must:
1. Be a Syracuse University student entering Junior or Senior Year or the Graduate Program.
2. Have a declared major in Civil Engineering.
3. Be in good standing at Syracuse University.
Application Process:
Candidates must submit:
1. A completed application form.
2. A current resume.
3. Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official, including academic advisor’s name, phone number and e-mail address.
4. An essay of 250 words or less on “What draws me to the field of Civil Engineering.”
When to Apply
Please print out and mail completed application with supporting materials at least 30 days prior to the first day of classes. Funds will be distributed through Syracuse University. The number and amount of scholarships will vary each semester.
